Karin Bamborough
Head of ProducingKarin Bamborough started as a stage manager and administrator in London Fringe theatre and did four years as Literary Assistant at the National Theatre. Joining Channel 4 as it was setting up, she worked first on the development of Arts and Drama output and later as commissioning editor for Film on Four, video drama and short films. Her particular concern lay in the encouragement of emerging film makers, both in the UK and internationally, and she supported early films from a diverse range of talents, from Peter Cattaneo to Atom Egoyan.
In 1991, Karin was invited to join the Norwegian State Broadcaster as their Controller of Drama, responsible for both production and acquisition of TV drama and feature films. Since her return to England she has divided her time between teaching and producing. She is co-director of Intrinsica Films, whose productions include Someone Else's America, (d. Goran Paskaljevic), winner of the Prix du Publique at the Cannes Film Festivals’s Directors' Fortnight in Cannes, and Stephen Poliakoff's Food of Love. As well as teaching at the NFTS, she is Visiting Professor at the Norwegian Film School.
