Jonny Persey
Jonny Persey is an independent film producer, managing director of APT Films and School Director at NFTS partner school The Met Film School at Ealing Studios. His most recent film, Deep Water, is a feature documentary for Pathe, Film Four, and the UK Film Council. His second feature film, Wondrous Oblivion, was distributed in the UK in 2004 by Momentum Pictures with Pathé handling international sales.
Having studied psychology at Cambridge University and worked for several years as a youth worker and training consultant, Jonny Persey produced his first feature film, Everyone’s Child, in Zimbabwe in 1996. He then went on to study at the NFTS where he produced a series of acclaimed short films both through the School and independently. He serves on PACT’s Film Policy Group and is a member of ACE.
APT Films is dedicated to the development and production of innovative and commercially driven feature films. Their first feature film Solomon and Gaenor was nominated for an Oscar in 2000. They currently have ten films in development, with finance attached from various financiers as well as their own development funds.
Based at Ealing Studios, The Met Film School is London's leading provider of practical filmmaking courses for new entrants.
