Trevor Jones has been described as one of the most diverse film composers of modern cinema. It is easy to see why.

He began his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, worked at the BBC as a classical reviewer, studied ethnic, jazz, pop, folk and avant-garde music for a further four years at the University of York then joined the NFTS as the first student of Film Music, composing the score for the Academy Award-winning short The Dollar Bottom. Since then, he has composed music for a wide range of blockbuster film and television productions.

Trevor’s TV compositions include the big budget productions Gulliver's Travels, Cleopatra, Merlin and Dinotopia.

Film credits include Excalibur, Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, Runaway Train, Mississippi Burning, Sea of Love, In the Name of the Father, Cliffhanger, Arachnaphobia and The Last of the Mohicans which earned him nominations from BAFTA and the Golden Globes.

More recent work includes Notting Hill, From Hell, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Chaos.

He has served as Chair of Music at the NFTS and recently won the Japan Academy Prize for his score for Aegis.
