Kamaljeet Negi

Screen Arts Scholar 2003-2004

Born and brought up in India, I graduated with degrees in Political Science and Law, both from the University of Delhi. I worked in television for about ten years, starting my career as a researcher and reporter. However, in 1995, a knack for visual aesthetics and creative ideas led to my first camera job. As a freelance cameraman, I shot a variety of programmes - the majority documentaries - which were broadcast on various channels including CNN, the BBC and DD, India's national broadcaster.

I joined the NFTS to develop skills in creative lighting and visual narrative, both in fiction and non-fiction films. At the School, I have collaborated with students of other disciplines and gained experience in shooting animations, dramas and documentaries on various formats including 35mm, 16mm, Digital and HI-DEF.

I am looking forward to continuing the collaborations started at the School and using the skills and experience gained here in future projects.
