Michael Ho
My first experience of filmmaking came while studying for a Media degree at Brighton University. I particularly enjoyed editing, and pursued this interest, editing short films, and producing visuals for club nights. After graduating I worked in web video, but the desire to tell stories was too hard to ignore and after mastering video compression I applied to the NFTS. A brief tenure as an edit assistant in Soho preceded my joining the NFTS in 2004.
At the School, I have been guided in the art of editing, cutting fiction, documentary, and animated films. The NFTS has provided me with the opportunity to broaden my editing experience, enjoy an internship on Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride and meet many talented filmmakers. I have increased my technical expertise, but more importantly I have begun to learn the interpersonal and storytelling skills of the film editor. I now hope to continue working in feature film and documentaries.
