Will Field
Recipient of the 2004 Farley Award for most promising Production Designer
I trained as a product designer in the West Country. Through my training, I became acquainted with using computer visualization to explore the relationship of ideas within a 3-dimensional space, and the process of taking a concept and developing it into a fully functional product. I worked as a freelance designer in Devon, creating promotional DVDs, web sites, furniture and a series of short animations before applying to the NFTS.
During my time at the School, I have taken every opportunity to learn and experiment, infusing my computer skills with traditional art department techniques. I designed and built the sets for X-mass, and developed the world for the animation, Hope. I was also able to experience directing and producing, on the Kodak commercial Morphin. Throughout my time at the NFTS I have utilised every opportunity to learn and work with different people from every specialisation.
