Synopsis

Set in 1975, The Illiterate is the story of Fidel, a dyslexic ten-year-old growing up in a hippy commune, and his introduction to the power of the written word and the complexities of adult sexuality. Combining live action, animation and fantasy sequences the film offers a window into the dark imagination of one young boy and his unusual vision of the world.
