Directing Animation

Curriculum

Students develop their animation and storytelling skills by exploring relationships between animation, narrative and film language. Through experimenting with different techniques they broaden and enhance their personal style.

The MA Animation course includes:
  • Storyboarding
  • Creating character
  • Animation acting, and directing actors
  • Pixillation workshop
  • Industry project - working to a brief, devising and pitching
  • Visual / animated interpretation of a soundtrack
  • Dissertation
  • Research and script development for the graduation       film
  • Graduation film – produced and post produced with students from other departments


  • Students receive specialised individual tuition according to the needs of their projects.

    FACILITIES
    In the first year students each have their own work space with computer, rostrum and camera. In the Second year they each have their own room with computer plus access to shooting space for stop frame, pixilation or live action when required. The School has outstanding sound and post production facilities on site and a selection of large and small shooting stages.
